Highway on my Plate

Rocky & Mayur

Food in schools and canteens has a special quality that you never forget. Anyone been to a boarding school will recall with nostalgia the smell in their dining rooms. The taste of the cutlets or chola bhatoora of your college canteen will be etched onto your tongue. Food has that ability of forming memories that define a phase in your life.

Rocky and Mayur hit the road again exploring canteens and dining rooms that have fed thousands over the years and formed memories. All such cities have some favourite hangouts too – Addas where young students and vellas meet and hang out for the pakoda, samosa, snack or meal. We rediscover canteens, dining halls, cafeterias and addas from around the country that have fed the Indians in their growing and formative years to make them the men and women they are today. Rocky and Mayur make up for the lost time now. If there is one good reason to go back to school or college, it is food.
