Pranayama - Alternate Nostril Breathing
Anuloma Viloma अनुलोम विलोम is also called the Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique.
In this Breathing Technique, you inhale through one nostril, retain the breath,& exhale through the other nostril.This purifies the Ida इडा and Pingala पिंगळा nadis.This purification brings balance to body and mind.The metabolic processes are balanced.The left nostril is the path of the Nadi called Ida इडा & the right nostril is the path of the Nadi called Pingala पिंगळा .In many people, this natural rhythm is disturbed. Anuloma Viloma अनुलोम विलोम restores, equalizes and balances the flow of Prana in the body.This is use to balance the physical energy and mental energy.As Hath Yoga हठ योग principle says that the health conditions are due to imbalance between this Ida इडा & Pingala पिंगळा .Alternate nostril breathing balances this two forces.

Precautions.
A Beginner can sit in a Cross leg position with erect spine position
If you feel little bit of discomfort then you can reduce the ratio of breathing.
Under No circumstances the proportion of the breathing should be forced.
People who have undergone abdominal surgeries, heart surgeries, brain surgeries should consult the medical expert or consultant.
Please do not rush to increase the proportions, as it will not help, but trying to practice easy ratio (4:6 seconds) for little more time may help.
